Chocolate, reimagined. Our Macambo Cacao Bar is made with both cacao and roasted macambo seeds, bringing together the rich depth of cacao with the naturally nutty character of macambo.

Macambo (Theobroma bicolor) is a close relative of cacao that grows in the Amazon basin. Unlike cacao, macambo is naturally free from theobromine, the compound responsible for much of the stimulating effect associated with traditional chocolate. Its roasted seeds have a wonderfully rich, nutty flavour with smooth, earthy undertones and a velvety melt.

In this bar, the two ingredients complement each other beautifully. You’ll get the familiar richness of cacao alongside toasted-nut flavours from the macambo, creating a chocolate experience that is deeply comforting, satisfying and a little unexpected.

We make our Macambo Cacao Bar in small batches using macambo butter and cacao with no lecithin. It’s a delicious way to explore a lesser-known Amazonian ingredient while still enjoying the character of real cacao.
